It was so fun to have a little "chat" with her in my garden:
Me: Hello, Laura! What a pleasure it is for you to be joining me in my garden to-day! Thanks so much for being here. Let's start out by asking you, why did you open an Etsy shop, and how long has it been in full operation?
Laura: I opened my shop in May 2009. I have been making jewelry and other accessories for quite a while, and it was getting to the point where I could only wear so many hair pins myself. I love creating so I thought I'd share with others and see where it went.
Me: Tell me, what inspires you, as a crafter?
Laura: I am inspired by simple designs, beautiful colors, and whimsical and vintage elements. In my life I try to follow the motto of "don't take yourself too seriously and keep things simple.". That's how I approach crating as well.
Me: Your shop sounds so delightful! Could you please give my readers a quick glimpse of what special items might one find in your lovely store?
Laura: You can find lots of flowers! From fabric wrapped rosettes to chrysanthemum earrings, I love flowers. I love to make items that are the little added touches to an outfit. A hair pin here, a delicate necklace there.. I believe that jewelry, handbags, hair accessories, whatever should just add a little something special and make you feel that much more pretty and confident.
Me: I agree!:) So what is to you perhaps the most enjoyable part of being an Etsy shop owner and crafter?
Laura: My favorite part of being an Etsy shop owner is knowing that I'm making something that someone else will hopefully love as much as I do. All the things I make, I wear and use and love too. I am so honored that people buy my items as gifts and love knowing that my things were under a few Christmas trees this year. I put a lot of love into what I do and I hope that it's felt when they wear my pieces.
