Joie De Vivre

Had yet another gr8 weekend pass by me. One of my hubby's friends had come over to our place for the weekend along with his gf. We sampled a Turkish restaurant near by which totally took us by surprise, the starters were lip smacking-ly good. Got stuff from the supermarket and cooked up some amazing food, also had drinks to go with it. :) Stayed up till 2 a.m talking about life and other things. This was how Saturday ended.

Sunday started late...woke up at around 10 a.m, grabbed some breakfast. I really dunno how do ppl skip breakfast?? Coz the first thing that i can think of once i am up in the morning is food. Anyways, back to Sunday, we got ready and went to Oxford Street. Oxford Street is a shopper's paradise, u name any brand and there it is! The pic above was clicked in the shoe section of Selfridges which is one of the biggest stores in London.

Today is a special day, it marks the completion of 3 months of 'us' being married. :) What makes it even more special is the fact that it's the first time that we are together on this date. The last 2 months were spent apart coz he was here and i was back home in India waiting for the visa to work out. Well, let me see if i can rustle up something special in the kitchen, for my hubby tonight.

Life has been good so far...its been 3 weeks of my being here in London and i like this city. London is pretty much like Mumbai; its vast, vibrant and cosmopolitan with ppl from all over the world...but the one thing that sets it apart from Mumbai is discipline and greenery. The city is really very well planned and clean in most of the parts. It's not easy to manage a city that's as large as London.

I am beginning to love this life and i wonder how will i deal with it when it begins to change yet again, which it will once i start working...Well, lemme take one day at a time, and i would rather cross the bridge once i am there. So that's it for now, hope u guys have a gr8 week ahead. So temme, how was your weekend?

How Are We?

Should i say it or not, may be i should....i think it's better to just let it be! I don't want to create trouble for myself. I am at my in-laws place, reached here yesterday evening. I dunno if i want to write something, i am quite blank as a matter of fact (and a bit bored too). So i leave you with this:

How's it going for all of you? Chao, more later!

Change is Inevitable

Not feeling too well, down with flu since Saturday evening...have got to pack so much! Dunno how and when will it happen. Feeling rather strange that i am sitting at home on a Monday morning. From today onwards i'll not suffer from the syndrome called "Monday Morning Blues" at least for some time to come. My colleagues must be busy at work...will anyone miss me? I hope so, if not then too its fine.

I have been there too often to realise that, ppl get busy with their own lives and nobody bothers to think abt the one who has left. The sooner one realises that the lesser it hurts. Anyways, few more days before i embark on a journey which will take me to a new country where i will experience everything for the very first time. I hope everything goes well (it will, it will). I have been saying this to myself time n again!

I celebrated the last festival (Holi) here yesterday, dint really play with colors as such but had gone down for the potluck lunch where everybody had got their own food from home. It was fun and this was my first event in our bldg since i got married. Everybody was busy scanning me from top to bottom, and should i say that they were pleased with what they saw. ;) Got a lot of compliments for the liquid sindoor on my forehead, made me look married in a very cute way (that's what ppl said).

Signing off for now, more later...cya and hope u have a gr8 week ahead!

A Doofus Weekend

What do you do when u have got nothing to do on a weekend like the one just passed by? Well, u spend half the day on facebook playing silly games and commenting on every other person's status updates and pics. You try to start packing for the long impending trip and give up soon enough coz u don't know how are you going to take the truckloads of stuff that u have bought over a period of 5 yrs.

U call up a few friends and try to make some plans to catch up with them, since u know that u r not gonna meet them for the next few years, only to realise that they are too busy with their own lives to meet u. Then u remember that there were a few clothes that were supposed to be given for dry cleaning, so u rush there without any further delay, only to find the damn shop closed!

Finally, u get back home and switch on the idiot box, settle down on the couch to watch the two supposedly super hit movies (the channels would like to claim so!), namely 'Action Replayy' & 'Robot'. I can't tell you which one was worse...and no i am not a Rajini fan so i hated Robot as much as i did Action Replayy. Both the movies seemed to have one thing in common, they dint make any "sense".

The only silver lining to this dark weekend were the long conversations that i had with hubby dear discussing life, the plans we have for each other and the things that i would like to do once i am there, and the fab dinner that i had with my parents at a uber cool restaurant yesterday (yep it was from my side). The dinner ended with a gooey chocolate cake which i had been craving for since long! :)

Note: Please say a little prayer for all the people of Japan who got a rude shock on Friday in the form of an earth quake of 8.8 intensity followed by a tsunami which left nothing that came in its way. Hope god gives them the strength to get back on their feet. Dear God, please be kind and reduce the sufferings of all mankind.

A Brand New Day

It's a beautiful Wednesday afternoon and i am smiling as i am writing this post sitting in the office, for reasons more than one. First of all my parents are back from their trip to Italy, Rome & Venice, needless to say that i am relieved. Thank god! Now I don't have to go back to an empty house in the evenings, i won't be getting silly thoughts in my mind anymore (ppl who have read my earlier post on this wud know).

I am so totally excited about the coming festivities, Diwali is on the 5th of Nov and we will be having a poolside party in our building. Also can't wait to meet a certain blog buddy who is expected in town then. And how can i forget the trip to Goa, which will be happening in the 3rd week of Nov. I just love, love, love Goa! I have been going there every year from the last 3 yrs and according to me its the best beach destination in India.

And last but certainly not the least, my new diet that has helped me in losing 3 kgs. I was delighted to see the number on the weighing scale today morning. I hope to lose some more which i am sure i will in time to come. So this is me signing off for now. Hope you all have a great week ahead!! :)

Love,

The Power of Punctuation

An English professor wrote the words:

"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the blackboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.

All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."

All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."

Did you realise what difference can a punctuation mark make to a sentence.

The Monday Morning Update

Got this really creative ad on mail and since it is so pertinent couldn't stop myself from putting it up here:

(Please click on the pic to enlarge)

It's a lazy Monday morning and i can't stop yawning!! Didn't do anything much during the weekend, just stayed indoors and enjoyed the monsoons. Saved money too by not seeing "Raavan" on the big screen. I so knew that this movie was going to bomb at the box office. I can actually think of taking up an alternate profession of being a film critic. :P I am that good at it!

The only thing worth a watch in the movie is the cinematography, sorry i can't spend 250/- on just the cinematography, I had rather wait for its world TV premiere (which will happen sometime soon just like the movie Kites which will shown on Colors channel on 27th June). :D So what did you do this weekend?

How you Doin?

This last week was nothing short of terrible, it had only been a couple of days since dad had recovered from typhoid and i was bitten by a silly mosquito which lead me to the dreadful malaria. What followed was 104 degrees of temperature for 5 days coupled with lots of weakness & an awful appetite. Let's just say that i hated to eat anything in this past one week! Mom had a tough time dealing with me, and it felt as if i had gone back to childhood. Her daily activities included goading me to eat on time, reminding me to take my medicines on time and staying awake through nights coz of the high temperature.

Anyways, it feels wonderful to be back to my own self again! Although i am still weak and on the slow road to recovery, it feels good to know that at least the malaria is gone. This illness has also made me realize how badly am i going to miss my mom once i get married. I so don't want to get married, not for at least the next couple of years! :|

Tell you guys plz take care of yourselves and do whatever it takes to stay away from mosquitoes! Stay safe & stay healthy.

P.S. A special thanks to all my wonderful friends who kept checking about my health every now and then. Love you guys to bits!! Also, needless to say my sweetheart who made it a point to call me twice everyday on skype to check on my health, I Love U Baby, YOU r simply the best!!
