Leigh Ashley is the owner of this shop, which is simply a treasure trove filled with so many stylish/vintage beauties. 

Me: Hello, Leigh! I am so delighted to have you here in my garden to-day! 
Do you think you could please tell me and my readers a little bit about yourself?

Leigh: I live in Colorado with my boyfriend, Mike, our pup, Sadie and two kitties, Bert & Molly. Needless to say, we're a full house! I work on my shop during the week and also have a part time job on the weekends at a local restaurant. I keep busy, but try to squeeze in time for walks, trips to the mountains, and The Office.

Me: What inspired you to start an Etsy shop and how long has it been in full operation?

Leigh: I started my shop in September of last year. I guess I was inspired by all the pretty things I found that I could make into jewelry. It's a constant search for new and fun things!

Me: Your Etsy shops name is quite interesting and unique...is there a specific story or concept behind it?

Leigh: There's really no fun story here... I just sat down one day and wrote out all the words that I liked and mixed and matched until I reached Barberry & Lace.

Me: So, what is perhaps, to you, the most enjoyable part of being an Etsy owner and crafter?

Leigh: I don't think there's one thing that I like more than another... creating, shopping, selling, shipping... it's all fun and all part of the process of making a successful business.

Me: What are some of your best selling item(s) in your shop?

Leigh: Ooh... it's interesting how that changes. I won't sell something for 4 months and then all of a sudden, everyone's ordering it! It's crazy.

Me:Tell us, what are a few of your favorite Etsy sellers/shops?

Leigh: My friend, Cole, makes really adorable wreaths (Handmade Colectibles) and there's this dress store I LOVE (RiverOfRomansk).

Me: Do you have a goal for your Etsy shop this year?

Leigh: I'd like to book a craft fair at least 6 months this year. I have some scheduled in May, June and August right now.

Me: Being an experienced {and successful} Etsy owner, could you share a few tips to the beginner Etsy owners among us?

Leigh: The typical advice I give to any new shop owner is this: relist at least 10 items throughout the day. This keeps your name at the top of the search engines. Photos are key. If your photos are well taken, people will include your items in more treasuries which increases traffic flow to your shop. Start there and keep going.
