2010 Will Never Be Seen Again

Farewell, 2010! I cannot believe how quickly this year has passed with so many joys and memories with it as well. 

Let's look back, shall we? 

~The Highlights of 2010~

I started blogging in February of 2010.

I bought my first good camera. 

My fourteenth birthday.

Our family's 7th trip in a row to Yosemite National Park. 

The meeting of so many sweet and dear friends on this blog! {you are all such a blessing!!!}

At the ending of next year, hopefully we shall be adding to this list of blessings. This year and the past have been a bit overshadowed by the passing of my brother-in-law last year and of my grandfather. Mother says that 2011 is going to be a GOOD year and I absolutely believe that, because all the grieving will be gone, and hearts will be bound and healed.

As we anticipate the future of the New Year, what about 2010? What blessings have filled your year? 

 What a blessing it is that the Lord has given us a whole new year to start fresh and anew! New year to take photos, explore our world, bloom into the young ladies we are becoming, but most of all walking closer with our dear Heavenly Father. 

May the Lord Bless your New Year, dear Readers!!!!

Computer: Male or a Female?

Once a Spanish teacher was explaining to the class that in Spanish, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine, unlike English.

 'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.' 

'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.' 

A student asked, "What gender is a 'computer' then?"

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether a 'computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation. 

The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because: 

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic; 

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;  3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and  

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it. 

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ('el computador'), because: 

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on; 

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves; 

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they are the problem; and  

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model. 

Needless to say, the women won!

What do you think about my new header and background??? Of course, until my 200th post I will not give an explanation as to why there are so many tea-related things {background, header, etc}, but let me give you a hint...

It has something to do with the New Year...and...TEA!:)

Blog Makeover {I need your Help!}

Hello, my dear readers! I have been excitedly anticipating the New Year, for many things are going to happen including an entire blog makeover!

I would like to make my blog the width of a three column {without making it a three column blog}, a cleaner look in the background, and a big header. Can anyone help me? I would also like to know how to upload bigger photos because my photography is getting much better, and small photos just do not make the cut.

I would prefer, if possible, to DO IT MYSELF, so that I can personalize my own way, {that's half the fun of blogging}, and have that experience later on.
